Bristlecone Pine Forest Oolite Necklace

Often mistaken as fossils of the ancient Bristlecone Pines in California due to their name, these interesting fossils were actually formed from grains of sand and sediment rolling around on the sea floor. The spherical cross-sections of ancient deposits are called oolites.
